this rainy highway got me thinkin’
What a day
This rainy highway got me thinkin’
Windshield wipers keep spinnin’
My mind bein spent on You
Just as the rain hits the window pane
So has your love been hittin’ me
Cool and refreshing
Calm and steady
Turning my grey skies into rooms where streams of living water reside
Waiting for the flood of your presence to arise
Some may see the rain as inconvenient
But I see it as an opportunity for resetting
Reset and rearrange this pane
As the tenderness of your fingertips flip the notches
These drops of water splash onto the places where my feet once walked
Grace came from a crack in the Heavens
Leakin’ into the soles of the floorboards and my soul all at once
Been walked on, walked over,
yet you still allow my heart to feel the goodness of a God who walked among us
the love i’ve lost was the roadmap to finding my way to You
GPS became my cry for God to Please Save me
My heart has been found in the winds of the storm
Not a destination, a journey where I know that In the pain of the rain, I have overcame
through a love I never knew could exist in the same space that unraveling took place
So continue to turn these grey skies into opportunities for the sun to rise another day
Remind me as these highways meet my mind and my tires shine from the rain that your mind is meeting mine in the middle of my pain
”Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew. Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants.“
